The Indian Lake Pathway features 8.5 miles of ski trails. There are three different trail loops to choose from. This is a beautiful DNR trail through flat to rolling terrain that is best suited for novice and intermediate skiers. The trail takes you through various types of woodlands, including mixed hardwoods, hemlock, and pines.
 
Directions: Indian Lake Pathway is found 9 miles NW of Thompson on M-149. If going west on US-2, turn right on M-149, turn left to stay on M-149 and follow to the trail head.
 
There is a plowed parking lot at the trail head. The trails are groomed (classic only) periodically as needed.
 
The Michigan Recreation Passport is required to use the trails.
 
Palms Brook State Park (Big Springs) is near by and often accessible in the winter.

Loop 2 (3 miles) - more diffiicult
 
Loop 3 (4.5 miles) - most difficult
