ABR (Active Backwoods Retreats) Trails is a located on over 1100 acres of varied terrain in Ironwood Michigan. With a trail for everyone, ABR offers cross country ski trails, snowshoe trails, and skijor trails.
ABR trails is a 69 km trail system. There are both classic and skate ski sections as well as 10 km of dedicated ungroomed snowshoe trails. There are beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails.
There is a heated warming cabin with light concessions, a ski shop, changing rooms, indoor restrooms, a heated wax area, and saunas and showers (for an additional fee). There are also rentals and lessons availlable.
The trails are open 7 days a week starting at 9:00 am CST though out the season.
Directions to ABR trails: From US-2, turn south on Lake St (at the Holiday Station), in 0.5 miles turn right on Frenchtown Rd,the road curves to the right and becomes South Range Rd, take for 2.8 miles to West Pioneer rd and ABR trails.
